I loved the continental climate of the city which makes it suitable for visiting all year round. Trois-Rivieres is a cultural hub. Trois-Rivieres is smaller in size in comparison to Montreal but attracts many visitors because it makes them travel back in time. Rue des Ursulines, the oldest road in the city is pleasant for a long walk. There are many buildings along this road that has been categorized as cultural properties. It offers a picturesque view. Many old buildings date back to 1650.

  • Get to Know About Ursulines

Take some time and visit the Ursulines. This is a religious institution under the Catholic Church. It was pretty dominant in Trois-Rivieres back in time. Visit Musee Des Ursulines to learn more about it. Take a tour of the buildings. When I visited, an exhibition was going on and the exhibits gave me more idea about the place.

Visit Trois-Rivieres’ Old Prison, it is now a historical monument which opened its door to the public in the year 1822. Go for a guided tour to know more about the history of the inmates and the prison. Want to experience how it feels like to be in prison? Spend a night behind the bars and have morning breakfast. You are given a t-shirt. I took this home as a souvenir. It was a phenomenal experience.
